All right - need some advice.

Hey All,

My little princess has been great with sleeping through the night (she is 5 months now), however she is starting to move ALOT during the night. I usually find her in the morning with her little legs pressed up against the crib rails (she seems to get herself on her side after I put her down on her back).

Couple of questions:

1) She is in a sleep sack - is she going to actually get her feet stuck one day?

2) Should I get a mesh bumper?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

  • When you take her out of the sleep sack there is a good chance without some sort of bumper her legs will get stuck.  From personal experience chubby thighs are hard to get out of rails.

  • I'm pro bumpers.  They keep arms, legs, dolls, and pacifiers in the crib all night.
  • We've used a mesh bumper to keep their legs from getting caught. They move around a lot. (I think that is pretty typical.)

  • I vote for the mesh bumpers. I love 'em. Evan always manages to smush his face or the top of his heaf into the crib and these provide a little padding but allow air to flow through.

  • I'm a fan of bumpers - my DD uses her as a pillow. I'd go with mesh bumpers at the very least.

  • Pro bumper here too but DD doesn't move around a ton and never near the bumper. She does use them to stand on though. Crazy kid. I'd get a mesh bumper at the least.

Once DD started crawling we stopped with the sleep sack so that she wouldn't get all caught up in it. When she was just rolling over we left her in it as it didn't seem to hinder her any.

  • Thanks everyone for the advice. I am going to get a mesh bumper. During DD's afternoon nap - she woke up screaming at the top of her lungs. When I went it, I saw that her poor leg was caught in the rail. Definitely on my list for things to do tomorrow - get a mesh bumper.

     Thanks again.
