reviews on baby jogger brand? (mini, elite, summit?)

Hi! Im coming over from the 2nd trimester board, sorry Im sure your asked a lot of questions about strollers but I thought it was fitting to ask here.
I am looking for a double side by side stroller and leaning toward baby jogger brand. the BOB strollers are too expensive for me and I dont need the all terrian features of them.. i really like the city mini but I am worried about the small storage space underneath. Ive been researching the elite and summit models too but cant find any big differences other than weight of them- which is important to me but I like the style of the elite and summit better. Any reviews or thoughts on any of these models? I do not want a sit and stand nor tandem stroller but open to any suggestions for other double side by side ones as well. Id like to keep it around $450.

Thanks!!

  • I have the City select double, and I know you aren't looking for tandem, but the storage underneath the city select, and the city elite double have about the same storage capacity (I looked at both when I was stroller shopping).  It is big enough to hold the diaper bag and my big mama purse (the elite and mini are more for inside use, and paved walkways).  The summit is a GREAT stroller (it is better on outdoor terrain) and if i was going side by side i would have gone with that one. we just found tandem easier for us. GL!

  • I have the Summit double and it is wide and heavy. I plan to use it as my outdoor stroller so I don't mind, but if you do not need an all terrain then I would not get it. I'm pretty sure the Elite is quite heavy too, the City mini is probably your best bet. Anything with air filled tires will weigh a lot more. As far as the lack of storage on the city mini, I'm pretty sure the seat backs have large mesh pockets and you can always hang your diaper bag from the handle and use mommy hooks.

  • I have a City Mini single and plan to purchase the double soon. I would definitely recommend it. The storage space underneath is small, but there is a mesh storage area on the back of the seat(s). At first I wanted to fill my diaper bag and then make the whole bag fit under the seat. That wasn't possible. Now I just pack differently (and more efficiently). I never have a problem fitting everything I need (diapers, wipes, baby food, snacks, bottle, sippy cup, extra clothes, small blanket, toys, etc). Also, if you have the right type of diaper bag you can hang it on the handle (even though it says not to). The only thing I find myself wishing for is an adult cup holder, which is an accessory that can be purchased.
