I love my wedding ring and now my fingers are getting chunky. I haven't really gained all that much and it's not swelling but my fingers just are being squeezed by my wedding band. It sucks. This happened while pregnant with DS as well (can't recall exactly when though) and I couldn't fit back in it for a few weeks after birth. I have to use a silver $10 band I think I got from Kohls years ago as my "wedding ring" now---or maybe I should buy some bling for a quarter from the gumball machines!!!! HAAHAHA!!!
But I guess the alternative is them cutting it off--and that wouldn't be nice so I guess it's bye bye to the ring for now =( (tears)
Re: But I don't want to take it off!!!
mine have been tight too. I'm trying to tell myself it's from the salty food I've been eating but I think it might be time to put htem away until next July-ish.
This also happened when pg with my DS but I think it happened earlier. I gained a crud-load of weight in the beginning with DS.

it's funny a few of you mentioned "fake" rings. A friend of mine just had a baby and about 3-4 months ago her rings stopped fitting. She took them off, but said she felt like she got looks, like people were judging her for being an unwed pregnant girl! She ended up wearing a plain silver band with another ring with a diamond on it. She said it actually helped. Do people really do this? In 2010? There are a lot of unwed parents out there...
My rings still fit, but I really don't want to get fake ones if they get too tight.
Yep, people still judge. I get pity looks when I got out do eat with just my Son. It's odd because you'd think people wouldn't care at this point. I've never been one to stay home though , when I was single I would go to movies, dinner etc by myself. I lived halfway around the world from home and certainly wasn't going to wait for anyone to come with me. I got the strangest looks when a waiter would ask "are you waiting for someone" and i'd say "no, it's just me". You'd think people never go out alone or something or never have babies while not married.
I feel the same way and dread having to take mine off. It is sad, but I think people do still look at you differently.
EDD 1/31/13, MC May 17. EDD 3/31/13, MC July 26. I miss you so much already my angel loves
Despite the sh*t ton of weight I've gained, I can at least still wear my wedding and engagement rings! *lol* I guess it's good that the pounds are on my thighs and not my fingers?!
ETA: I was able to wear both rings my entire pregnancy with DS...I had them on at the hospital and everything. I never had an issue getting them on and off.
That's exactly what I have done.
