so tired of feeling terrible (vent/tmi)

Hi Everyone,

Just have to vent to people that may understand.  I am 11 weeks pregnant with my third.  I have been looking forward to enjoying this pregnancy, knowing it would be my last but my body is not cooperating.  I have been terribly sick with morning sickness.  Then, since I am not eating much, I am constipated and I now have my second cold since becoming pregnant.  Does anyone have a suggestion for the constipation that will work around nausea and vomiting?  I am tolerating and drinking water but that hasn't been enough.  I was able to eat canned peaches yesterday (for dinner) with 'fiber sprinkles' mixed in, to no avail.

 Sorry to be negative I just feel lousy and it's wearing on my spirit.  Thanks moms.

  • Applejuice helped me with constipation... Drink a glass or two {try to at least..}

    Carbs were my best friend when I wasn't feeling well- potatoes, pasta, & bread were always bland enough that they didn't bother me much... Good luck, Im so sorry... it'll get better

  • Thanks, I'll try an apple juice 'cocktail' with my 4 year old after school.  The bland carbs are some of the only foods that are tolerable, yet they are so binding.

    I've become an old lady!

  • i would try eating a granola bar. they help with nausea and you can keep it down and has fiber to help with constipation.
  • I'm right there with ya, I've felt terrible since 6 weeks and it just wears you down.  The vomiting has stopped, but I still deal with the rest including nausea.

    Juice, like the pp said, worked for me, too.  I drink a lot of grape and apple juice and a smoothie if I can manage it.  Hot water with lemon also made my digestive system run a bit better also.  Hang in there!

  • Fiber didn't help me before pregnancy, so I take Miralax in juice in the morning.

  • Well, you're definitely not alone on those feelings.  I'm still vomiting every other day if not more often and I can't even eat bland foods.  Pasta, rice, even crackers all come up.  And don't get me started on juice.  Let me know if you find anything that helps you, please!  Good luck to you as well!

  • I am so sorry. I can totally relate.

    Here I am at 15th week, still with the all-day sickness and vomiting even on Zofran every 6-8hours, aversion to foods, still can't brush my teeth with toothpaste or go to bed without a bite of graham cookie because of the omnipresent metallic taste in my mouth.

    I gained about 4 lbs up until the 10th week then I started to lose weight again. I'm underweight to begin with so my doctor seemed pleased that I was gaining weight. I have my next appointment next week on Monday, and I've lost 4 lbs again. I was also sick with some kind of food poisoning or stomach virus yesterday and haven't been able to eat anything but congee. Oh the joy. DH got me some Ensure and I've managed to drink a whole bottle so far.

    I'm sorry. I don't know if it helps but I'm right there with you. I'm also very tired of being sick.
