Going backwards only on ride-on toys??

N's almost 22 months and he still only pushes backwards on his ride-on toys.  I've tried to show him how to go foward, but then he loses interest in the toy.  I don't know why he only wants to go backwards.  Does anyone else's LO only go backwards?  Or if they are riding going foward, how did you teach them?  Maybe my kiddo is just strange.

  • Ds just stated going forward recently. He started on his own.

This... DS was riding his toy backwards for so long and then all of a sudden he started to go forward... it happened maybe a month ago

  • DD is younger, but she also only goes backwards. I keep wondering when she's going to figure out how to go forward. She likes to be pushed along, but can't seem to figure out how to do it herself.

  • E is the same age and only seems to go backwards, it is normal. The only time the toy goes forward is when she is riding it backwards. I am confident she will get it eventually.

Same for us. He keeps backing himself into corners and then yelling, "uh-oh".
