2nd Trimester

Feel like I've been riding a horse

I know someone posted about this a while back, but what's up with the constant pressure and pain "down there"? I assume that it's just due to where the baby is sitting. Even when I'm sleeping on my side at night, it still hurts. This is baby #2 for me, and I don't remember this much constant aching with the first one. Is there any way to relieve the pain and pressure?

  • I wish I had been riding my horse! I miss him and he always gives me the sad look when I see him and there's no riding involved. I know, Totally off topic.

  • I remember this from my first pregnancy but I don't think it happened this early. If we are talking about the same thing, my doc said it's the tendons getting pulled apart and that it's normal to feel it earlier on with #2. She also said if hurts so bad I can't walk, I'll need some kind of brace or wrap to help keep everything together. Hoping it doesn't get that bad. Walking slower seems to help a bit.

  • I get achy once in a while, too.  Once I felt like I had just given birth to my DS.  It was awful.  It went away.  Doc said it was pretty normal for 2nd time moms.  Everything is a little more 'relaxed'.

  • I have this too and actually just found out that it is probably varicose (sp?) veins down there.  I know that sounds really gross...but a few of my friends have confirmed that they had it too and your doctor can verify for you (though even if they do there isn't anything they can do about it).  It makes you feel swollen and sometimes itchy.  They can be really uncomfortable but don't pose much risk.  Apparently, they go away after baby is born.
