What's a cute way to do hair for a holiday party?

My hair is just past my shoulders, longer layers with the shortest one being right above my eyes. It's wavy/frizzy naturally so for "dressy" occasions I usually just blow dry it straight. Anyone have a favorite way to do their hair? I usually try to do something cute last minute, but it always looks crappy. If it helps, I'm wearing black dress pants, heals, reddish blouse-y top and black cardigan. 1ht

  • It sounds like your hair is very similar to mine.  My 'dressy' look is just to blow dry it straight.  By the end of the night I'm usually sick of it so I'll throw it back into a pony tail.

I recently attended a wedding where I pinned it back behind my ears at the last minute and threw a fresh flower in it.  Super easy, simple, and I left it like that the whole night.

  • You could straighten your hair and curl the ends or you could pull it up into a high ponytail and curl it. You could also put it in a classic ballerina bun. You have lots of options. I just depends on how much time you have on your hands and if you want to rock it natural or straighten it.

  • something like this is nice.  You can go to walmart & get a "bump-it" (In the hair accessory section & it comes with a large one & a smaller one so you wouldn't have to have massive hair...also you could keep the rest straight if you'd like
