Shower timing

How early is too early to have a shower, and when do you think would be too late to have your shower?

My friends have suggested March 6, and that is kind of stressing me out, b/c that does not give much time to get things done.  I am a person who likes to ready for things in advance.  I am only having one shower, besides work, which will be mostly gift cards.

    I think 6 wks prior or so is good---you don't want to have it too early, but you don't want it like 2 wks prior either.  I had it first week of June for DS and was due 7/11 (although went almost 2 wks overdue LOL).  I found it perfect b/c the crib was already done, which is the only thing besides diapers (which you may not get a lot of anyways at a shower) that you really need at first.

    I took the day off after the shower and wrote my thank you notes, sorted stuff out and washed everything---then I felt "ready"----so you do what you can beforehand and then the shower is a bonus.

    My shower is March 6 and I am due April 10. I figure I have a month to wash and setup everything we get from the shower.

    I am due in May, and I think my showers will be in late March or early April.... like others said I don't want to have it to close to my due date. Plus I want to look preggo there too.

    My shower is on February 20th and my baby is due April 4th.  As long as you and the people that are hosting your shower are pleased with the date then that is all that matters IMO.

    My first shower is in January, and my last is TBD but likely mid-February. So I'll have maybe a little over a month between shower and due date.
