Those with big LOs - what overnight diapers do you use?

DS is 22 months and 32 pounds. He is only in about the 75th % for weight, but he still has chunky thighs, so he typically needs a bigger diaper. He normally wears size 6 Pampers during the day and those fit great. We have been using the Huggies Overnights in Size 6, but he does not fit into them well anymore and now they are leaking - he is waking up SOAKED the majority of mornings. I was going to switch to Pampers Extra Protection, but it looks like those only go to size 5. Any other recommendations? Thanks!

  • I'm no help. We use the Huggies ON in a size 5...and I think next time I order we'll be going up to a 6.  He wakes up wet about 50% of the time :(

  • I just wanted to add that before we switched to Huggies ONs we were using the Fisher Price Happy Nights (from BRU) and they worked pretty good. We only switched because of all the amazon.com deals on diapers. So they're another option for you. And they go up to size 6 (35+ pounds).

  • You could try the diaper doublers from BRU added to his size 6 Overnights.

  • I wish I could help.  DS is in Pampers Extra in size 5 and he leaks occasionally.  We're just trying to reduce his liquid intake in the evenings!  Huggies just do.not.work for him. I bought a box of 6's recently and he leaked every night he wore them.

At least w/ Pampers, it's still hit or miss.  And for the most part, he leaks fewer nights than he doesn't.

But still... he's 35 lbs and I don't know what we're going to do when he really doesn't fit anymore!

Again- going to try and limit his liquids!

  • My DS is about 28 lbs. and we don't use overnight diapers.  We use size 5 Up & Up diapers full-time.  He's a heavy wetter and rarely wakes up wet.
  • I do Huggies Overnights in a size 5, but many morning he's very soaked. So now what I do every night is change him while he's sleeping. Before I go to bed (around 10:30 or 11) I gently undo is pajamas and change his diaper while he's sleeping. It usually wakes him up somewhat, but he's still half-asleep and he always goes right back to a full sleep. I think he's used to it now.
I'm not crazy, I've just been a very bad mood for the last 40 years!
  • We've had amazing luck with Earth's Best diapers (available on Diapers.com). They hold ton, come in large sizes and never leak even after being on 12 hours, all-night.
  • I really like Huggies Overnights.
