I had severe pre-e with ds. It started around 28 weeks as PIH and at 33 turned into severe pre-e and was induced within 10 days.
So far my BP has been great, super low. 115/65 consistantly at home.
Today I woke up exhausted, cannot function exhausted. Up for breakfast and back in bed for 3 hours, I just thought it was not sleeping at night blah blah blah.
I'm on bedrest anyway, so its really strange to be SO tired. Anyway I've taken my bp all day and it's up. Not high, but higher than my normal readings.
Its 125/75-77-80
anyway. I know it's not high AT ALL, but do doctors ever look at the overall increase in BP? Or just go with the 140/90 standard.
did anyone start off like this? I'm just worried I'm reaching the point where I was with ds and heading that direction again though just at a different staring point maybe.
Re: bp rising or fluke?
I was told that they look at a significant jump in your pressure, even if you are still below 140/90. If the top number is up 30 points or the bottom is up 15 that can be a warning sign. So while it is up, it isn't that big of a jump. It might be nothing.
With that said, my pregnancy was a lot like your first. I started with PIH at 29 weeks and delivered with severe pre-e at 35. I had nice low pressures in the beginning that slowly crept up with my pregnancy. I never had a big jump, just small ones like you are talking about. (well until delivery..) So I understand your concerns. It could be the first signs of pre-e like it was for me or it could be nothing at all.
If I were you I would talk to the doctor to be safe. I know for myself, once I start worrying about what my bp will be, it stays higher just from anxiety. I always feel better after I talk to someone. Good luck!

My doctors are not concerned unless you reach that magic 140/90 number. I had PIH at the very end of my pregnancy and if I hadn't been so far along (39w3d) I probably would've been diagnosed with Pre-E. This time, I have had several jumps like the one you've had, but my pressure has gone back to normal.
I know you're on bedrest so exercise is out the question, but have you looked in the the Brewers diet? It's a high protein diet and my mw suggested I follow it if my bp started to rise this time. I was diagnosed with GS a few weeks ago, so have been on a high protein diet anyway and all swelling and high bp that I had started having has completely disappeared.
