Orgasming while on pelvic rest..

I know pelvic rest means "no sex"...wondering if this is because of the trauma of the penis ramming the lady bits, or because of the orgasms. Anyone know?

In my entire life, I've only had one orgasm while sleeping. I've had lots of dreams that left me sexually frustrated, but only one dream that resulted in the big O. Well, that changed this week. In the last two nights, I've orgasmed three times in my sleep (the O itself wakes me up). Apparently, I'm a liberated whore in my dreams Wink

At this point, nothing can really be done about it...can't exactly control my dreams, but I'm more wondering what is worse on pelvic rest...the actual sex act, or the actual orgasm act?

    my dr said no sex no orgasms. When I brought up my concern of those dreams she said there is nothing you can do about those and to not worry.

    I had a number of sleepgasms while on pelvic rest, and the cramping afterwards really freaked me out.

    My OB told me it's the insertion of penis/fingers/etc. into the vagina that is the main concern. Irritation to the cervix, etc.

    While he stressed that we were not to engage in any sexual activity while on pelvic rest, the now and again orgasm while sleeping would most likely not do anything. It's not like you can stop it anyway, so he told me not to stress about it.

    Thanks all!

    Hopefully, at my appt tomorrow I'll be taken off pelvic rest anyways, so I'm hoping this is a mute point.

    In the meantime, I'll keep enjoying the sleepgasms, since that's the only action I'm getting right now...

    Ok, I've had dreams about masturbating and sex, but I've never had an orgasm awake or asleep...

    I get them in my sleep sometimes too.  I was just put on pelvic rest yesterday and told no sex, no orgasms no douching and no tampons etc.  I think it's both that they want you to prevent if possible.  The orgasm would cause contracting of the ute and penetration would cause cervical irritation.  Obv there's not much you can do about o'ing in your sleep unless you happen to wake before it starts.  I think I stopped myself from one last night because I remember in my sleep thinking I can't let this happen.  I know sometimes you're sleeping pretty deep though and can't realistically do anything about it so I wouldn't worry about the occasional sleep o.
