DD's surgery to put tubes in both ears will be Jan 3. I talked to her ped and we'll do the pre-op the same day as her already scheduled 9 month well baby check up next week.
I'm thinking (hoping???) the holidays will keep me too busy to worry! I know the tubes surgery really isn't a big deal, but I don't like the idea of her having to be put out.
Maybe we can visit the NICU nurses while she is in surgery.
Re: DD Tubes Surgery is scheduled
Oh it definitely sucks. Sean had surgery when he was about 8-9 months old and I was a wreck. But they bounce back SO fast when they are little.....you'll see, she will be up and playing like nothing ever happened.
Hopefully you can get it scheduled as early as possible in the morning since you can't feed them for like 12 hours before. Good luck with everything. She'll do fine!!
:hugs:
Oh wow that has to be especially difficult on top of everything else!
I dreaded the no food/drink beforehand rule....but at my son's age (8 months) I was able to feed him in the middle of the night.(He was still waking up anyway) I can't remember the exact rule, but it actually went very smoothly! they had different rules depending on the child's age and whether they were getting formula/breastmilk VS actual food/drink.
Try not to worry-it will be so worth it. And you probably won't even have time to visit the NICU nurses. When we left the dropoff area and found our way to the waiting room, it was literally about 5 minutes and the doctor was there to tell us everything went great and we could go back and see him in a few minutes!
