5-6 weekers - have you told anyone?

We're planning to wait until the end of the 1st tri to tell anyone, but I'm not sure I'll be able to hold out that long. All of our family is here, and I see my mom every day. On the upside, I'm so busy with DD that I forget that I'm pregnant about 75% of the time. Embarrassed

I want to at least wait until after the first Dr. appt, but I'm not sure when that will be. I have an appt with a nurse at 8 wks, and can't schedule an appt with a Dr until then.

Anyone else trying to wait?

We haven't told anyone yet but are planning on telling our parents and siblings on Christmas. We have our first u/s on Wednesday so hopefully everything will look ok!

We are telling on Christmas. I'll be 7.5 weeks. I don't have my first appointment until January. I told everyone (announced it on FB even) at only 5 weeks with DD, but I'm probably going to wait until after the first Dr appointment to announce it on FB this time around.

Like CaraMia, we're waiting to tell everyone on christmas and i'll also be 7.5 weeks at that time. I did break down and tell my best friend yesterday for a few reasons - one, it makes it more real and two, she had to deal with a completely hysterical, emotional breakdown of mine the day before. Anyone who can be there through all that deserves to know :-) For everyone else, we're waiting until the first trimester is done.

My BFF knows and I'm telling my mom tonight. So excited about that! We are waiting until Christmas to tell DH's family and will probably tell my extended family at that time too. I'm excited for everyone to know, but it's also kind of neat having this "secret." Just trying to enjoy all phases!

I will be almost 9 weeks on Christmas & we decided that as long as we don't have any scares before then that we will tell our parents & siblings. I also am going to tell my BFF a day or two after we tell our parents. If something happened after that point I would definitely want the support.

We will probably wait until after the beginning of January to tell the rest of our family/close friends. And then until after the end of the first tri to tell everyone else.

My DH and I agreed to wait and tell our parents/family on Christmas (its also our parents first grandchild) but we told our best friends when we found out.

I definitely like being able to talk about it, especially with friends that have children ("is this normal?!") I agree that it makes it more real!

I told my parents and one of my friends who is pregnant. My husband hasn't told anybody yet. I have my u/s scheduled right after Christmas. I am at a higher rate of miscarriage b/c of a thyroid issue so we will probably wait until 12 weeks to tell most. We are kind of taking day by day.

Last week was my birthday so we told our immediate families and 3 friends know. A few work friends too.

One of my co-workers/close friends knows because her daughter is due around the same time, and she can help "cover" for me when I can't lift heavy things or I have to run to the restroom. I also told a close friend the other day mainly because she had just heard horrible news about a friend and was saying she needed something to cheer her up. Both people I trust not to tell anyone. We will tell my parents, siblings, and two best friends on Christmas, when I will be just over 8 weeks. Work/extended family/friends will all be around 12 weeks.

I just found out this past Thursday and said I would wait until at least the first doctors appt., which is Jan. 11th........that lasted about a day! I've already told all of my immediate family and close friends Embarrassed

I think we want to tell our immediate family at Christmas. I'm a little nervous though because my first U/S wont be until until after christmas. I will likely tell my friend as well and everyone else at 12 weeks

Right now it's just DH and I who are in the know and a good friend of mine who I work with. I told her because I needed some support at work one day. We plan on telling our parents and siblings Christmas eve --- the rest of the world will find out after 12weeks.

We have our first u/s scheduled for 12/20. If everything looks good on that, we will announce to our parents and siblings on Christmas morning. We will wait until 12 weeks to tell everyone else. (We do have a few very close friends that already know, just because we had to tell someone!)

We have told SIL, MIL, and a few of our close friends. Apparently DH told some people at work and word has gotten around. He works in a restaurant so word travels fast. A few girls at my work know as well.

It took us 2 1/2 years to get pregnant so it was really hard to keep a secret.

We are telling my parents and his grandparents next weekend when they get here for Christmas. I have our facebook accounts blocked from comments for now.

We have our first ultrasound Friday @ 6 1/2 weeks.

I have told some people mostly due to the fact that I have been so sick. My appointment is 12/22 and we plan to announce to the family at Christmas. My bloat also seems to get bigger every day so I'm not sure how much longer I can get away with wearing hoodies every single day.

Yeah, I told 1 co-worker and my DH told 3 before our first u/s. We had that u/s on Friday at 5wks 4days and afterwards we told my mom, my maternal grandmother, and my DH's parents.

We are having our next u/s a week from Monday at 7 wks and plan to tell the rest of our close family (siblings, aunts, uncles) on Christmas.

We've been very open about our losses and our fertility treatments. The support we've received has been very important, but it also has everyone keeping close eyes on us at all times. We can't get away with anything. ;0)

Do tell! I'm hypothyroid and when I called to make my first appointment, I told the nurse that and she was like, "it doesn't matter, that doesn't make you a high risk pregnancy". I'm not saying that is DOES, but I have read that this is really something to watch out for, and that it is especially important to never skip a day of taking synthroid.

We told everyone right away. I wan't even 4 weeks when we spread the news. I cannot keep it in. I so wish we would have waited though til Thanksgiving or even Christmas for that extra something. I loved that we told everyone though because the support and excitement has been wonderful. I think Christmas would be a great time to tell, but it's whatever you and your DH are comfortable with. H & H 9 months =0)

Currently 5 weeks and haven't told anyone but our siblings. We plan on telling our parents at Christmas (7 weeks) but not telling friends until after 1st Tri.

I've told my parents, but no one else yet. We're having dinner with a few close friends tonight, and it'll be difficult not to tell them!

I'm kind of going back and forth on telling DH's parents/our siblings at Christmas. I'll only be 6 weeks, and I won't have had my first ultrasound yet, so we're thinking we want to hold off on that.

My last pregnancy was interstitial ectopic- super dangerous. The doctor started monitoring for a repeat IMMEDIATELY. Because of that, we told both families, our pastors, and 2 other close couples right away. They all knew intimately what we went through last time, and we decided we really wanted the extra prayers and support.

We're heading back home (1/2 way across the country) for the holidays, and I'm realizing it's gong to be HARD not to tell more people (we'd like to wait a lot longer for most people). Plus- since my health was in danger last time, pretty much everyone knows what happened and that we were trying.

Somehow, someway, neither of us has told anyone. I'm bursting at the seams. Can't believe how challenging it is to keep this secret. I would love to spill the beans on Christmas, but DH and I have agreed to wait until my 8 week u/s, which is not scheduled until January 7th. Thank goodness for this board-being able to share the news with you ladies definitely takes the edge off.

I'm planning to tell family and friends during Christmas/New Years festivities, so I'll be about 8-9 weeks. The main thing I am waiting for is just to see the u/s (appt on the 20th) before I tell.

I told my sister that night because I had to tell someone but then we are waiting to tell my family and close friends over Xmas/New Years. We don't live near either family and couldn't tell our parents in person with #1 so are super excited that we can tell them with #2. I waited till 12 weeks the 1st time around for friends but sure I will tell most because I tell them everything both good and bad that happens (plus I am bad at keeping super awesome secrets!)

My SIL knows. She asked me (caught me off gaurd, didn't know what to say) so I told her. We're telling our family on Christmas. I'd like to wait until the end of the 1st tri, but we're too excited to wait.

Eek! This is our first BFP! We are so excited but still a bit scared something could go wrong (I have had ovarian cyst surgery). After this week I will be 5 weeks. We have not told anyone yet! This is actually my first post about it!

We have an orientation appointment with an OB on Wednesday (I will be 4 weeks and 6 days).

First real appointment will be January 14th (9 weeks). I think we will tell family after that 10 week mark and everyone else around Valentines day (end of first trimester).
