Anyone else become a paranoid driver?

I mean, it's redic at this point. I'm normally a bit of a speeder (and a bit of an ass, I really have little patience when people delay at the light, etc.).

But lately I'm five under the limit, right lane, two hands on the steering wheel. And if anyone even looks like they might drift into my lane, I lay on the horn.

I just keep seeing nasty accidents, and now with the crappy weather...ugh. I don't want to get in an accident in my regular life, but it completely terrifies me right now.

    after my accident in September I'm a much more paranoid driver. I'm still an ass when I drive, little patience for the delayed start, and I'm a much bigger fan of my horn. I'm more paranoid in the morning rush hour drive because that's when I was hit, but I'll still flip you off if you come into my lane without a turn signal

    Not yet...I'm still an aggressive azz who thinks everyone should drive in an efficient manner, and gets POed when people don't Smile Sadly, being in GA, people here don't quite live up to my ideals that were finely honned in southern CA...

    I still speed a bit on highways, but definitely am becoming more cautious and 2 hands on the wheel, etc.

    Not yet...I love to drive! I'm not as crazy as I was when I was a teenager though. I usually go anywhere from 0 to 10 over the limit depending on where I am and what the other traffic is doing. But it's Florida so the roads are flat and straight and usually dry. If it's raining, I slow down.

    But, I'm also lame and usually don't really go anywhere except to work and doctor's appointments, which are about 5 minutes from my house.

    I had a car accident at the beginning of my 3rd tri and I've been a spaz ever since.  For some reason I do better when I'm driving but I CANNOT be a passenger.  I was driving when the guy hit me so I don't get it other than I need to feel in control.  I'm 8 days from my c-section and refusing to leave the house at this point because I don't want to drive but I can't stand riding with other people.  My screams and eye covering tend to freak them out LOL

    I was the same way for at least a month after my accident. Even now when someone else is driving, I spaz out if they don't break in time (my ideal time)

    DH & I joke that he "ruined" Thanksgiving because we got into an argument that night over his driving.  It was late & we were on dark, curvy, wildlife-populated, country roads.  He was just whipping along & I finally said something along the lines of, "Do you SEE where this seatbelt is?!?  Do you realize that even if we don't get into an accident a short stop could end things for us right now?!?"  

    With my own driving, however, I'm just a little more cautious than usual.  ("Usual" being typical, aggressive, NJ-bred driver.)  Guess it's the whole control factor.  ;)

    Not so much with regards to how I drive, but I'm becoming a lot more aware of the idiots driving around me and what they're doing - becoming more of a defensive driver I guess.
