Inspiration board

I've been blog stalking lately and some of you have inspiration boards that are so adorable for your little ones! How did you do this? With our wedding and with Bella's room, I've always had an idea in my head and somehow just made it come together. With this little boy, I have the idea in my head and a whole blog post with ideas but still can't imagine it actually coming together. How do I go about making an inspiration board? I'm on a mac if that helps... I'm clueless about it but I really think it would help me to see it all in one picture.

I'm 26 weeks tomorrow which means 9 weeks from this point I delivered Bella. I'm mildly panicking in my head that I'll go into preterm labor with this one too and I really want the room to be done... although not like the kiddo NEEDS a room since he'll be in our room for a few months. I still WANT him to have one and I'll feel better after nesting and putting all of his stuff away... I can't wait to get out the NB CD's again!

Re: Inspiration board

  • I can't believe you're so far along already! Eeek! You just want an inspiration board, not a mockup - right? If so, try Mosaic Maker (very simple mosaic style) or Polyvore (a bit groovier). Both are online so they should be fine with a Mac.

  • Seriously, how are we this far along so fast? Geesh! I did my inspiration board on Polyvore that I posted on my blog last week. Miss Kellie's looks super fancy compared to mine, but it does the trick for me to at least map stuff out. We just finished our step daughter's room yesterday so I can't wait to finally get started on LO's room! Good luck, can't wait to see when you start decorating! :)

  • Squee Sarah, I am so excited for you! I've used the two sites Lisa mentioned, but ended up doing my inspiration board for Libby's room using MSPublisher. I had all the inspiration photos/jpegs saved to a file on my computer, inserted them into a blank document, locked them all together and then right-clicked and save-as JPEG. Uploaded it to photobucket and linked in the blog:

and then here when we had most of it done:

It's actually changed a lot since then and I think I should snap more pics, one year later, and post them!

Cannot wait to see what you've come up with for your little guy!

  • Hey, Sarah. I've been blog stalking you, and I love the ideas you've posted for the nursery. I probably won't be much help when it comes to making inspiration boards, because I have a crappy PC. I made mine by saving the pictures I wanted to use to my computer. Then, I cut and pasted them together in Microsoft Paint. It's not very high tech, but it works for what I wanted.

    Good luck!

  • I tried to add my blog ticker here and updated the layout of my blog but I don't like it... I'll have to mess with that again! I'm off Tuesday and while Bella's napping maybe I can work on an inspiration board :) Thanks for all of the tips! You guys are WAY better than me at this!
