Trouble TTC

Residual effects from ER?

Hello!

So, I had ER on Thursday, and I keep meaning to come on and post stats, but I've been in a lot of pain. Sad  Stats first though:

37 eggs!!!

some they froze

10 were conventional: 6 fertilized!!!

9 did ICSI: 9 fertilized!!

We have 15 embryos!!!  I am AMAZED.  So, we froze some and are watching some until day 5 (Tuesday).

Here is the catch: the dr wants to play transfer by ear to see how I recover.  Please help!!! I need some tips!  I've been really really bloated and in pain since ER and still haven't had a BM (sorry TMI).  I've tried Colace (6 yesterday) and tried Miralax yesterday, but still nothing.  Please tell me you IVF girls have some tricks up your sleeves!?!  I'm starting to go crazy because nothing fits and I can barely walk around. Sad

Re: Residual effects from ER?

  • After suffering some serious constipation when I was pregnant I will highly highly recommend acupuncture.  It was fast acting, which sounds necessary for those transfers.  Keep us posted, great numbers you had, and my paws are crossed for Tuesday.  If you can't handle the acupuncture, apples were always a good go-to, (I use to do colace, metamucil, miralax while preg, all together.)

  • I am in the same boat!! ER was Thrusday and we are doing the ET on Tuesday too!

I am very bloated and very constipated. The nurse told me I could take metamucil so I did. Nothing happened.

I have been drinking a ton.

Yesterday I had a little poop and it was heavenly. My bloating is starting to go down a teenie bit and my weight was actually down this morning (it hasn't gone up sine the ER thankfully). So I am continuing with drinking a sh!t load of fluid and it seems to be very slowly helping.

    Good luck on Tuesday.

  • I was told I could use a laxative with a stimulant between ER and ET.  That helped.  Since ET, I have just used fiber supplements and stool softeners.

The other option that is safe before and after ET is glycerine suppositories.  I didn't have to resort to them.  But they are supposed to be very effective and quick acting.

    Good luck!
