bedsharers!

Tell me more about the specifics of your sleeping arrangements.

Re: bedsharers!

  • We have Law's cradle butted up tight to my side of the bed (if only he would sleep in it!) Law sleeps between the cradle and me, H sleeps on the other side of me and the dogs sleep on the other side of him- at the opposite edge of the bed from L and me. I sleep with 1 pillow and lay on my side, facing L with my arm between him and the pillow. I tuck my blanket in around my waist and wear a long sleeved shirt to bed. L sleeps in a sleep sack, just on top of the top sheet on our bed. For half the night he faces me, then I turn him so for some of the night he faces away so he doesn't get one side of his head flat :-P it's funny though because when he faces away from me he always reaches up and holds onto my hand.

  • Our sleeping situation is very similar to Juliet's, except that Charlie sleeps between DH and me. Its rarely cold in our room, so blankets and pajamas are not a problem.

It really is such a great way to sleep. For instance, last night, Charlie was able to wake me up (since he was right next to me), I fed him and changed him, and he went back to bed. No crying, no stress.

  • imagelaura101:

Koen sleeps on the left, me in the middle and my H on the right side of the bed. Sometimes I put Koen in the middle but my Husband has been sick and taking cold meds and Im afraid he will be so out of it and roll over onto Koen so thats why hes not in the middle right now. Our cats sleep at the foot of the bed! Koen sleeps right next to me. I cant wear a baggy shirt to bed because he nuzzles into my boobs. Must be a comfort thing. I have to wear either a nursing bra, or nursing tank to keep those puppies from smothering Koen at night.

Charlie does the same thing! He holds his pacifier in against my boobs and falls asleep almost instantly. Hey...whatever works!

  • I start out with Annelise in the bassinet but if I keep putting her back in there I'm up all night. We end up with her in the middle (huge king sized bed) and sometimes she likes to sleep in the middle in her boppy, using the boppy as a recliner/nest thing. If she isn't in the boppy she does the snuggle to the boob thing that OSC and Laura were saying their LOs do.

    That's a good idea!

  • I am really trying to cut this out because it makes me so nervous, but when she is in bed with me she sleeps for like 5 hours at a time. Anyways, she is in the middle between DH and I with the dogs at our feet. I lay on my side facing her with my knees below legs, my arm above her head (to keep the pillow from moving down) and her upper body angled slightly away from my (so the weight of my body doesn't make her roll towards me). She is usually swaddled. If it is close to getting up time, I will prop myself up with pillows and have her sleep on my chest.
