Teachers asked for classroom donation in lieu of gifts....

So how much is appropriate???  I'd like to be generous but money is very tight for us as I've been not working and on bedrest now for months.  I already got them little stockings filled with tea because they are tea nuts and I felt bad just doing a contribution and not getting them anything for themselves.  My one son has one teacher the other has the main teacher and her assistant (which all the kids like the assistant better lol).  I'm torn on giving them cash in an envelope or like a target gift card or something and I have no clue how much to give them.

    they mean it, they don't need anything- give them a heartfelt card thanking them for all they do. that's it.  if money is tight, don't worry about it.

    As a teacher myself, whatever you give will be appreciated, whether its a card or a homemade gift, whatever.  Its just nice to be recognized around the holidays honestly.
