What's the difference between-S/O food making

Is there a difference between a food chopper and food processor?

We have a chopper that has a blade and we usually use it to chop onions.  Would this work to puree steamed veggies?

ETA: What about a regular blender?  Ours has a puree option.

  • Regular blender would work fine.  Our chopper just pretty much dices though ... it wouldn't puree smooth enough.

I would agree with this but to add...the first batch I did of homemade baby food was butternut squash. Although I have a food processor, I was being lazy and pulled out the blender to use instead. Didn't work at all - the squash was definitely waaaaay too thick (even as I added water) to really puree it. Hauled out the food processor and it pureed the squash no problem. So - I think you can try a blender but it seems like it may not work for everything (or at least true of my blender).
