Pre washing baby items

Lurking from 3rd tri with a question for you ladies.

I pre washed the baby clothes, bedding and blankets that I will be using for LO right away and left everything else unwashed until it's needed. I'm now wondering if I should pre wash LO's washcloths and hooded towels as well or if that's overkill. What did you ladies do?

i washed towels and wash clothes before DS got here. I don't think that's overkill at all.

better to do it now until you get home and are like "oh shiit I dont have any clean towels!

I washed the towels and cloths because they will touch his skin.
I left some clothes unwashed with tags on, in case he grows too quickly to wear them.

I washed ANYTHING that touches baby's skin, so that includes cloths and towels.
