Ok, so I know it's stupid and all but I just can't help feeling like this and I know I'm not the only one. Yes, I am aware I just had a baby 2 weeks ago.but I am so frustrated by how my body looks. I did already lose 23lbs (of the almost 40 I gained) but still my belly is mushy and I have this big pouch and soo want it to be gone! I have no reason to complain really, I am already below my pre-preg weight from before I had DS but still, I just hate this jiggly feeling and am so ready to be rid of this extra weight and be back to my regular self. Right now I feel like I don't even want to get dressed, just want to stay in sweats all the time.
Ok, vent over, just needed to get that out )
Re: Stupid/silly vent (re:weight)
I felt the same way at 2 weeks, my sister & my bestfriend were never jiggly after having a baby they perked right back up and there i was, mrs jiggles. Though i do weight less than where i was pre pregnancy, i felt even more gross. But it does slowly start to firm back up. Im at 6 weeks PP and though im still jiggly, its nearly NOT as bad as i was before. Breastfeeding has helped alot, and drinking alot of fluids. Though its around the holidays, i dont worry about it. On thanksgiving i let myself have whatever i wanted, and when its not the holidays i eat really healthy. Alot of fruits & vegs and fish. I had a c section so getting back to the gym was going to take longer, but i feel like jan 1st would be the perfect time, plus the gyms all have deals around that time. IDK if you have a LA Fitness in your area, but they have a daycare center at the place, and its only 35 dollars a month. I know other gyms had daycare centers, but not nearly for as cheep.
Good luck, it will get better and better. Like i said im still jiggly, but not as bad as i was at 2 weeks. And i hope with diet, fluids and the gym i will get in better shape.
Santas little helper!
I definitely know how you feel, but I would suggest the same thing my friend (who has 5 kids) suggested to me.. Though you may need to wear things that are a little bigger, don't wear things that make you feel gross. Don't slum around in sweat pants without make-up because it will make you feel worse... and getting a belly band that helps hold in that tummy definitely helps too =P
I was HORRIFIED the first time I looked into a mirror after giving birth, but it's getting better.. I'm sure we'll get there
Thanks ladies! With DS I was down to pre-preg weight by about 4 months but then lost extra, by the time DS was 1 I had lost double what I gained with him. So although I weigh less now then I did 3 years ago before any babies it still doesn't help the gross feeling & DH doesn't understand, he just thinks it's silly.
OK. off to shower now while DD & DS nap and put on clothes since we are having company today.
