Trouble TTC

XP from TTGP - Results

So, I posted the other day about the receptionist at the doctors office, who told me 'you need to make an appointment, your husband's results were abnormal', with no more information. Well, we had our appointment today.

Concentration 96 million/ml :)

Motility 59% :)

Morphology 3% :(

The good news is, he recommended an excellent RE for us to go to for IVF, and said he expects to see me back, KU in 6 months for my prenatal visits. He said he has every reason to believe that IVF will be successful for us. Let's hope he's right!

We're headed to the ILs for the weekend, but I'll be checking in from my phone. Have a great weekend ladies!

Re: XP from TTGP - Results

  • With those numbers I would really give IUI a chance before doing IVF.  Morph can vary so much from sample to sample and the new norm is 4% so you are not too far off from that.

Anyhow, if you have coverage for IVF then I guess that would make it a little easier.

    Whatever you decide, goodluck!

This 100%. Did he do a 2nd SA? Has he seen a urologist? Do you have any known issues or is it just YH's morph issue?  MH's morph is 3% and everyone we have spoken with so far (OB, Urologist, RE) have told us that they think we have a good shot with IUI.  Our RE wasn't even concerned about MH's morph (his response when I asked was "eh, it's only 1% off"), he was only concerned with his volume.  It's your decision of course, but I think most women on here would say that if you have a decent chance to go the IUI route without jumping to IVF, you should really consider it.

Unfortunately, with my history of endo, cysts and mid-cycle bleeding, he doesn't think IUI is the best option. We're making a CD3 appointment with the new RE, so we'll see what she recommends then.
