Hey, All,
It's me again, hopping over from the April 2011 board with a CD question.
One of my friends who I would pretty much consider a "baby expert"--mom of four, midwife, doula, etc. gave me a bunch of cloth diapering supplies and told me, "If you cloth diaper, don't buy onesies because the onesies will wick the moisture out of the cloth diapers and make them leak." She told me instead to get my baby T-shirts and legwarmers. Has anyone else heard this? I mean, I believe her, but I guess I'm always surprised when I hear something I've never heard before.
Thanks so much!
Re: cloth diapering = no onesies?
DS is always in onesies and we never have leaks because of wicking. If we have a leak it leaks out the sides because of compression. I put him in babylegs too.
Do you ever sleep?
I'm going to bed now, I swear! lol Somehow it got way too late, way too fast.

What? DD practically lives in onesies. I don't use pants much, but that's because I'm lazy and prefer being able to check her diaper easily.
The only time I have wicking issues with the onesies is if I let her go too long in a diaper.

I prefer onesies and other snappables to t shirts because babies spend so much time on their backs that the t-shirts inevitably ride up and make their backs and tummies cold. In teh summer, I suppose t-shirts make sense.
But my baby has been cloth diapered since her stump fell off around day 5, I love me some onesies, and the only time she ever leaked was one unfortunate tummy time when she was wearing a t-shirt.
In fact, one of my favorite things about CDs is when you snap the onesie on the baby over their fluffy butt, it makes them look a little like a bowling pin.
Once your baby is rolling/mobile, I can't imagine not using onesies... t-shirts would be riding up all the time.
You can buy onsie extenders to make them longer.
I just looked at the bag of what she gave me. It is a bunch of Bumkins and a few Polar Babies diaper covers.
Thanks for all of your help!
