Help Save My Marriage!

Aha! I KNEW that would get your attention! (It's not as dramatic as I made it sound ;))

My 4yr wedding anniversary is coming up and I have NO idea what to get DH. He already has all the guy stuff like a watch, a good wallet, sunglasses, etc. He's not a jewelry kind of guy, and he's not even that into sports so tickets to a game or something won't work.

I am stumped! Men are so hard to shop for! Any ideas?

Re: Help Save My Marriage!

  • I'm getting DH a certif for a straight razor shave for Christmas. He loves them. It's his equivalent to a facial. Not all guys like them, though.

  • Get him YOU.

Seriously - an overnight at a bed and breakfast or local nice hotel complete with sexy lingere.  Suprise him.  Romance him.  Candles.... the whole 9 yards.

I'll bet you're the thing he's missed the most since his birthday last year.

Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
  • is he a big fan of something? dh is a super fan of D&D (dungeons and dragons role playing) i got him a t-shirt at cafe press that has his favorite comic (the order of the stick) about D&D and i got ds a matching t-shirt, they looked super cute together wearing the same shirt! :D

  • Are you looking for something unique? ?I've given racecar driving lessons and a ski diving gift certificate. ?Does he like art? ?Concert tickets?

  • You got me! I'm in the same boat as you. Men are really hard to buy for, and my DH in particular doesn't appreciate "cute, sentimental" gifts (except his 1st Father's Day present this year). So, this past anniversary, I just cooked him dinner. It's impossible to find him something he'll appreciate, so I give up! I know this isn't much help, but I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone with being stumped! Women are so easy to please....flowers or even helping around the house & I'm on cloud 9!!!
  • For Father's Day, I did a "Paul" day. We all went out for wings (his favorite) and I didn't complain a bit when he got the ones coated in garlic...

Then we went for a walk along the city's riverfront and I had plans for him to play tennis with his friend.

He seemed to enjoy a day that was all about the things he enjoys.

  • Have you tried looking for inspiration in the "traditional" gifts? The 4 year ones are kind of lame, but maybe they'd help get some ideas flowing.

  • Ooh...good ideas ladies! Howleyshell - we still haven't had a night away from DS yet, but maybe now is the time to plan one :). And Julie1408 (did I get your name right???) - the race car driving lesson sounds so fun! I'm going to google it and see what's my area.

    Thanks everybody!
