I have some questions. What meds did you use, and how much of it did you need? How many follies did you produce on it?

My RE's office says they can give me a free box of Bravelle (I thought of you Papps!), so that really helps. Does anyone know how much is in a box?

RE is leaving it up to me whether I want to go to injects or try Femara (much cheaper route) first. Apparently he says though that Femara is also an anti-estrogen like Clomid, and it *might* have the effect on my lining that Clomid did. I know I've read that hardly any Femara users have commented on thin lining as a s/e, but I trust my RE on this too. Any feedback on that too?

He says he's a bigger fan of injects bc they work on your follicles in a direct manner versus the way Clomid/Femara do. A

I did only 1 cycle with Femara/TI and I produced 1 follie with a normal lining...no side effects:) I received 30 tablets free from a coupon I printed online. My RE wrote the script for a month (30 tabs) and I used 10 tablets for the 1 cycle I did.

I did 2 Follistim cycles w/IUI: Ask your RE if they have vouchers for this...I got 2 free 300iu cartridges!

1st cycle=I did 125iu every pm and only produced 1 follie.

2nd cycle=I did 175iu for a few days & had a great response so they dropped me to 150iu for a few days, then to 125iu. I had a 20mm, 17mm & (3) 16mm.

Unfortunately, it was all a BFN:( 1 box of Bravelle has 5 vials of 75iu's...how much did your RE say he was going to start you on?

I don't know what he'd start me on. He said I'd come in on CD3 for u/s, and then he'd want me in 3 days later to see how I was doing and would adjust my meds accordingly.

I forgot to ask - what days do you take the injects - how many days? This is all so new!

I'm trying to figure out how much this is all going to cost. =/

This cycle I did Femara + Bravelle (my RE gave me a free box too!). The box of Bravelle comes with 5 vials, each vial is 75iu. I did 5mg Femara for 5 days and 7 days of 75iu of Bravelle (my RE ended up giving me 2 more vials from another box).

Regarding the lining, I had a terrible lining with Clomid and my lining was great this cycle with the Femara & Injectables. I don't know what it would have been on a Femara only cycle...I never tried that.

I had 2-3 mature follicles before trigger...I don't know if the 3rd ever caught up. I had two for sure, 21-ish follies on each side, and then one around 16 on the left also.

I've used Femara for all 3 of my IUIs (see my siggy for dosage and follie results) so I've got no experience with Bravelle. My RE has never indicated that I have any lining problems...I know this can be an issue with Clomid though.

I started meds on cycle day 3 and went back 3-4 days later to have a follie check. Like pp, you can maybe mix Bravelle/Femara to help offset the cost...I would take advantage of the free box of Bravelle:)

Thanks for the feedback ladies. Yes I remember seeing that some REs will do Femara + injects to lessen the cost a bit, and my RE said that he'd rather I do Femara only or injects only. I guess this is one of those times where you have to kind of trust your RE on his/her judgment, you know? But I at least like that I can ask him about mixing Femara + FSH.

Omg this is so overwhelming.

I hate that Clomid thinned my lining. =(

Last cycle was my first on Femara and at CD 12 my lining was 7, which my docs office likes to see at least 7, so they said that was good. I didn't O until CD 16 so I'm hoping it was even better by then. I'm drinking POM juice and red raspberry leaf tea this cycle to try to get it a little thicker.

I have taken Femara three times. The first time I got 3 mature follies, the second was one big follie, and the third was no response even after upping the dosage in the middle of my cycle. My lining was 6.4 the first time but only 4.1 the second time. After the thin lining they put me on estrogen for the rest of the second cycle and also the third. So I didn't have any crazy s/e from the femara but I did still have a thin lining. It might just be me but I wouldn't be 100% sure that femara won't thin your lining either. We will be moving on to injects after last cycle. Good luck with your decision

thanks for all the responses ladies. ideally i would do injects but the crappy part of being oop is having to try lower cost options first. i know re wants to go straight to injects bc of my lining issue this cycle, plus he said my follie response wasnt that great and he has seen much better success on injects,

My lining was good on Femara, 8.2 mm yesterday at 13dpo. I had two follicles on my right side :-( and none on my left, the two were large though, 18.5mm and 20.2mm.

See siggy for rx and dose. They did tell me that my lining did thin out. They did show me but I cannot remember. I do. Remember my follies size 27mm, 20mm, 18mm, 15mm and 10mm.

I am on my third Femara cycle. I have had a great response on Femara. I got two mature follicles with this cycle. One was 21mm and the other was 25 mm. During my other cycles, I had only one mature follicle. Also, my lining has been great. This month it was 10mm.
