Surprise solo steps

I was "walking" Margaux, like we do many times a day. She holds out her hand, and we take it, and she pulls up and walks holding hands with one of us until she gets bored or we let go.

Well, I saw that I left an extra kitchen light on, so I rested her hand against the wall and went to shut it off. I returned to see her carefully walking across the room by herself, no support, washcloth in her hand, opening the garbage, and putting the washcloth in.

She saw me, smiled, dropped to the floor and crawled over.

She can totally walk. Thought so.

Love it!!! What a great story to tell! GO MARGAUX!

Sydney is taking a few steps every day. She started on Monday with one or two falling steps between myself and either my Mom or DH. This morning, she walked from the ottoman to me, taking five slow, purposeful steps. We are so close. I can't imagine the first time I see her walk all on her own. Good stuff Amy. Good stuff.

I think Ellie will be a bit like this - she stands and walks so well with help, but just gets a bit flustered otherwise - unless she's in the mood to stand and then I swear she could go hours. I feel like we're losing some ground with my surgery and my not being able to walk and help her, but when's she's ready...

LOL BUSTED!!!! My uncle didn't walk until he was 2 - or so they thought. They opened his door one day and he was running around and around in his crib.

LOVE IT! She just likes to get her pants dirty by crawling around, she's a tomboy for sure!
