F/U Colic..

Well, I had called on Wed night, and they scheduled K for a weigh in this morning to see if they can increase her prilosec.

The nurse came in to a screaming baby and weighed her.  I TOTALLY thought she gained.  NOPE. 1 oz in 10 days.  The nurse was not happy.  We were immediately referred to the pedi GI dr.  

Even though she has not gained, they are upping her dose of prilosec to try and help her keep more food down.  Her GI appt is Thur.  The nurse said neosure/cate will be the next step with tests.  She was diagnosed so far with allergic colitis, colic, and a failure to thrive.    Even though she gets a few days where she does gain weight, it is inconsistent.  For example, she only gained 1 lb the first month.  then in 10 days, gained 1.5lbs.  Then the last 10 days gained 1oz.  

Her eating is completely inconsistent as well.  Some days, the bad ones with colic, she only eats 15-18oz.  Good days, she drinks 24-28.  But it is not enough to make her gain weight.  The nurse was also concerned to hear she has 4-5 bowl movements a day on formula that FILL the diaper with blow outs.  No visible blood, but there is SOO much poop, it is hard to tell.

So that is where we are at.  I told her I am at my wits end.  I have brought my daughter to the doctor EVERY week she has been alive.  Some weeks, 2-3 times we are at the doctors.   The nurse basically said try and get a babysitter for my son, and drive around with her to get her to nap.
