I was trying to wean DD from bottle by offerring the sippy first and then the bottle when she wouldn't drink from the sippy anymore. Well this isn't working at all. DD caught on and is flat out refusing the sippy with formula now. So I think I'm gonna have to go cold turkey this weekend.
Any tips or advice for me while I'm in the trenches?
Re: We're gonna have to go cold turkey!
I am going through the same thing. DS hasn't totally caught on yet, so he'll take about an ounce from the sippy. Then he'll start spitting it out, playing with the cup and throwing it on the floor. So I'll give in and give him the rest in a bottle.
Sorry no tips, but good luck!

Were staring this weekend. (as well as start 4oz formula/2oz milk)
so i have no idea how to go about it either. but some of my ideas is iam going to wash all the bottles and put them up and away. if DD sees a bottle she gets all excited and throws her sippy cup (or she started hiding it this week under the couch)
This is DH big epic contribution to the brainstorming last night:
"DD likes to mimick alot of what we do around the house. so while i stay at home this next month iam going to carry around a sippy cup of my own. maybe she'll want to be like her daddy"
I thought that was too cute and had to share.
but GL let us knwo how it goes. we all need encouragment lol

I see from your ticker that you've been through this a few times. With your previous kids if they refused..... How long did it take for them to give in and take the sippy?
Yeah, that's kind of genius. I fully support this and encourage you to report back on the outcome.

I obviously don't belong here yet but I know a trick to help get rid of the bottle.
Put powdered milk in the bottle and formula / BM in the sippy cup. Your LO will learn that it just tastes better in the sippy then the bottle and get rid of the bottle all on his/her own.
