Throw up

Tonight I gave Leah her bath and an 8 oz bottle like I normally do and put her to bed.  About an hour and a half later I heard her coughing and whining so I went in to check on her and she spit up or threw up her ENTIRE bottle.  WTH?  She has never done that.  I mean, it was everywhere.  All over her, from head to toe and all over the sheets.  And now as I type this she threw up again.  What do I do?  She was fine all day and night

Re: Throw up

  • Did she go back to sleep? Is she running a fever? How is she acting? I need more details.

  • Maybe after she is done throwing up offer her some water and see how she does with it. Since she is continuously puking I would think it might be a bug and not just a super full belly or a coughing mishap. I would also think about letting her sleep within earshot of you in case she falls asleep and then decides she not done throwing up. Hang in there mama.

  • DD has been throwing up too. Pedi said stomach virus.
  • Sounds like a tummy virus to me. Hang in there mama! I hope your DD feels better soon.

  • Poor baby, I feel so bad for her.  I ca't believe it was so sudden.  She was seriously fine all night long.  SO is off to CVS for pedialyte and more Tylenol, and DD is lying in our bed.  She's just so lethargic and yellow looking.

  • YUP!  We just got over the virus here.  No fun!

I would do two feedings of pedialyte and if she holds that down, you can start introducing small bottles of formula more often.  DS puked once a day for a week after the initial night.
