Speaking of nurseries... AW

I just got out of a day-long meeting and I don't really want to work. So, I figured I'd AW this.

I'm working on getting the nursery done by Christmas, so we can share it with the families.

But of course, I have to share with you all first.

We're doing russian doll theme.

Here are some of the details...

Furniture
Graco's Sarah crib and changing table in espresso

Fabrics

Crib skirt will be in the russian dolls
Crib sheets will be in the turquoise and pink fabrics (not sure why they look patterned, but they're not)

Bins
For the changing table (the colors are WAY off in this picture - they're really close to the aqua and pink above), two of each (they fit three wide on the changing table).

Art
The plates will go above the changing table, and the canvas art will go above the crib.

Paint
The room has a dark wood chair rail, and I'm planning on doing a light aqua on the bottom and white or cream on the top.

Plus, it's all relatively cheap:
Crib skirt (my one splurge): $105
Sheets: $8 each
Bins: $6 each
Plates: $20 for all four
Canvas art: $60
Valances: $9 each
Total: $255

My parents are buying the furniture (their gift for LO#2), but it's about $230.

For less than $500 all-in, I'm pretty proud - it's a lot less than what I spent on Paige's nursery. I can't wait to see it all come together (and share pictures with you!). :-)

  • I love the theme and I am SO about aqua right now so of course I love that it is one of your colors.  I can't wait to see it come together!!
  • Loading the player...
  • Super cute theme! We have that crib and I love it! Good job!
  • It sounds like it will be lovely!  I think you splurged in the right place.  That crib skirt fabric will make the room.

Can't wait to see it all put together.  :)

  • I LOVE the theme! That's going to be one cute nursery!
  • I LOVE it Brenda!  Nicely done momma!
  • That's going to look awesome, Brenda! Very creative :)

If you're not opposed to painting the chair rail, you should consider painting the lower part of the wall and the chair rail a white or cream and the top the darker color. It would look like you have fancy schmancy moldings. Your idea will look fab, regardless of how you wind up painting!

LOVE!!  I've been obsessed with matryoshka dolls since Jake bought me a set on his way to Afghanistan.  I made one of these last night as an ornament for our tree.  I think you need one too!

  • Love!  Where did you find the canvas and the fabric?  I've been trying to come up with something for L's big girl room, this might be it!
  • I'm just now seeing this! Love it!  Love the details!
