Aaron's diaper rash is still going strong, so I called his pedi. The nurse said she'd call in a Rx cream to the pharmacy. I'm thinking it will be $50, which is our "max" copay usually.
Nuh-huh.
It was $100!!!!!
I told the pharmacist to put it back. Thankfully they did.
Maybe my pedi has a sample? Or I'll try some OTC stuff and will stop by BRU to get them (Triple Paste has been recommended.) His rash isn't AWFUL... it's just not great.
Yikes.
Re: Holy Expensive Butt Cream, Batman!
No generic. The retail w/o insurance was $300!!!
For a tube of tush paste!
I didn't want to pay $50 but I figured I was saved a copay ($25) with the nurse calling in the Rx and thus I'd suck that up. But I'm not sucking up $100. Ack!

That's insane! Why does stuff like that need to be so damn expensive.
When I was pregnant I was having stomach acid problems. Doc called in a RX and it was going to be something like $200 for 10 pills or something equally ridiculous. I refused it and the Walgreen people were very nice about it.

My little guy has had a bug, too, which resulted in a bad diaper rash. Triple Paste worked great. He is home today with a cold & runny nose. The pedi thinks it is teething (which I am finding out they blame for everything), so I am not so worried about it.
There is no reason a butt paste should cost that much. Period.
