So I had a dream last night that my baby was already born, I was doing a diaper change and the baby was a girl. I have heard that some women have dreams about the gender of their babies and are right (but hell we've got a 50 50 chance, so odds are pretty good either way).
Of course it doesn't help that DH and I were talking last night and he said something about "my son"... I said "The more you say that the bigger chance we'll have a girl you realize that right?" lol... My subconscious likes to take little meaningless conversations and turn them into dreams so this might have been the reason behind it... DH and I would *LIKE* a boy for a couple of reasons - 1st he's the last in his line (i.e. carry on the family name) and 2nd, my parents have only grand daughters so I think it would be cool to give them a grandson... But we both agree that we don't care (cliche coming) what is so long as it's healthy....
Re: Mothers Intuition or Just a Dream?
I have yet to dream of the baby. I have only had dreams saying, that i'm pregnant so far. But you're right, it's pretty much 50/50 but I've heard of the mother's intuition also! Maybe you're carrying a healthy boy!
Something you're not telling your DH??? lol... Kidding!! That's funny though lol. Maybe your subconscious is telling you that your baby will be taking traits from other members of the family ?? It's fascinating isn't it?
I hope so! I mean, not to sound bad but I'd really love a boy...but I won't be disappointed if it's a girl. I will love either baby just the same
I had a dream that I was in labor and I "helped" deliver a "baby" girl. I say "helped" because I pulled her out. I say "baby" becasue she was atleast 2 years old with a page boy hair cut and a pink bow. If any of you read the comic strip Luann? Toni's little niece Shannon? That is EXACTLY what this "baby" looked like.
And I struggle with my upper arm strengh (its like a kitten) and in my dream she was too big to pick up and hold and I dropped her
Its really funny you said that actually. My fiance went through a pregnancy with an ex and 4 months of the babies life before he found out it wasn't his!! I always tell him the newborn pictures look exactly like the real dad and not him and wondered how he didn't see it. Maybe we talked about that the night I had that dream. Its 100% his obviously but maybe I was worried the baby wouldn't look like him or something weird hahahaha never really thought about it that way
Oh man... your poor DH... I'm sure that's it though! The subconscious brain works in weird ways. I'm telling you, if I see a spider or a bug during the day I force myself to continue to think of it. If i put it out my mind quickly I'll dream about spiders and bugs LOL... I learned that at a young age cuz I'm SO not a fan of bugs LOL
I think the dreams are your subconscious telling you what you would prefer in gender. Sure we all want a healthy baby, but some people really have strong feelings towards one gender over the other.
I said from day one with Max that I was having a boy. This time I really think I am having a girl. In February we will see if I am 2 for 2.
Well the thing is, I would prefer a boy... but I dreamed that I'm having a girl... LOL
Chuckle! MY DD was born with pitch black hair and blue eyes...huhm...she kept the blue eyes and the hair is now blonde...I did dream it was a girl though...
I dreamed last night that I had a baby girl. I think that's mostly because I'd really like to have a girl, not so much an intuition thing. Anyway, she was gorgeous, and she had MH's fluffy blond hair
...and then, because it was a dream, and my dreams are freaking weird, she was a baby hamster (still blond, btw), and I was freaking out because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to nurse such a tiny baby. Anyway, sorry if I'm sidetracking, I just found that part really funny.
