has anyone DIY a cookie bouquet?

I am throwing a baby shower this weekend. the theme is teddy bears. I need a centerpiece idea. I was thinking of making cut out cookies with royal icing into a cookie bouquet. I was just going to buy the craft sticks and put them into the dough. I wondered if it was trickier than that.

Any other great ideas? This might be more work than I want...

If you're comfortable with sugar cookies, I'm sure it would be pretty easy to do! The hard part for me would be getting the timing right so that the cookies don't burn.

Perhaps this is already in the tips that Laura posted, but you would want to make them pretty thick so that sticking the sticks in them doesn't break the cookies.
