DD watches baby einstein dvd's while I cook dinner. She loves it and now that she is mobile it keeps her from coming into the kitchen and grabbing my legs while I cook at the stove. That makes me nervous.
Other than that if we have something on the TV she barely notices and doesn't care.
DD half watches the news with me in the morning and she watches baby einstein dvds but that's about it. At night we do not turn the TV on until she goes to bed, but only because she doesn't need to watch the sort of shows we watch at night...I am not really opposed to her watching some tv..
The only time DS "watches" TV is in the mornings when I'm getting everythin packed up and ready to go drop him at my moms. And when I say "watches" I mean I put it on in his room while he crawls around playing with toys.

DS has a BE dvd that we will put in if we are desperate. Like when cooking or cleaning something. He likes it okay, but we don't really like him watching tv.

Emma could care less. She's in her swing in the livingroom playing with her stuffed animals while I watch tv. When she's having a bottle she watches me. She doesn't care what's on the tv.
Yes, but I just started letting her watch a few weeks ago. I turn on Dora or Mickey Mouse Clubhouse after breakfast and she watches off and on while she plays with her toys.
Only when he's around his brother (summer vacations, etc).
If its something like Diego, or Scooby Doo (P's faves!) then Drew will perk up, but I change the channel.
He did watch Rudolph with us, and he'll pay attention to Veggie Tales. But really, the TV is on ALLLLLL day at our house, and he notices it maybe once a month.
I used to have it on for background noise, but he started really getting into the shows. Now we turn on the wiggles for him, or at night when I'm trying to get his bath together, I'll turn it on for him.

Yes, I put Nick Jr. on for DD as background noise while we play. To be honest I watch Nick Jr. for myself as well. The only time she even looks at the TV is if moose and zee are on, it must be their voice. She will also watch yo gabba gabba, but only when they are singing. She really loves watching them sing and dance. And she is super cute when she bounces up and down dancing with them giggling!
ETA: I watch Nick Jr for myself for the reason SA said above, about being a sahm and being in a dead quiet house. Not to be weird lol. I don't watch the shows I like unless DD is napping, and I record them on the DVR if they are on while she's awake. I learned to like the shows on Nick Jr. enough to keep me sane.

DD really isn't interested in the TV. We do have one Baby Einstein DVD that has a bunch of live footage of jungle animals. She likes that portion, but has no interest in the Baby Einstein puppets or whatnot. If we had the station I might turn on Animal Planet for her occasionally, but we don't, so it's a moot point.
DS has "watched" Baby Signing Times and that is it. I use watch loosely because he really just glances up when songs are on and dances to the music while I reinforce some signs with him. I don't plan to let him watch TV before 2 years old as I don't think it's good for his development. Plus, there are plenty of more interactive things us to do together.
ETA: I am sure if I stayed home with DS I may feel differently but we leave the house at 6:30 and get home at 4 and he is in bed by 7 so between dinner and the bed time routine, I there isn't a lot of quality time we have together. The TV is on sports on the weekends but he doesn't pay much attention.
