KinderCare daycare center Plymouth/Lil Newton's Nest/recommendations?

Well, I'm nearly 6 months pregnant with our first now, and we're looking into daycare options. While I would adore being a Stay at Home Mom, my husband just simply doesn't make enough money for the both of us (including baby-to-be). We live right across from the KinderCare center in Plymouth, right off of 169. Just wondering if anyones had any experience (good OR bad) with them? We're also going to be taking a look at Lil Newton's Nest in Plymouth.. their rates are about 1100/monthly.. does that seem like a really high price or? I am clueless! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have any experience with either center, but $1,100/month for full-time at a center sounds great to me!  My dd's center is currently >$1,300/month for full-time infants

  • Not sure which way you commute, but I have a friend who brings her kid to Creative Kids Academy (MG/Plymouth location) and likes it.  They are pretty affordable for a center as well.  We are in the North part of Maple Grove so pretty sure you wouldn't be interested in our area.

  • I would suggest checking out the New Horizon Academy in Plymouth, There is one right off 169 and hwy 55. They have an excellent infant curriculum that concentrates on infant sign language and even early literacy skills for infants. They are also accredited through NAEYC, which is quite an acclomlishment since only 10% of child care centers in the country meet their very high standards for early childhood and quality care.

I would imagine that the prices at New Horizon Academy will be comparable to Kindercare.

  • My good friend is a manager at a Kindercare in Woodbury. She always speaks highly of their programs and the staff.

$1100 sounds like so much to me! I suppose it's pretty reasonable for a center.

I have TWO children in a home daycare (3 year old and 4 month old) and if they went full-time it would cost us $1000 a month full-time for two kids.

  • We are at Lil Newton's Nest and LOVE it!  I think it is a decent rate for a center program. We were at in-home before for less and were looking for a center environment and thought they had great rates considering it included diapers, formula (if you need it), food etc.  Seriously---I spend so much less on diapers now!

Beyond that, we are just so pleased with the staff, program, facilities, etc.  If you have any specific questions, feel free to post or PM me.

  • My little boy (4 months old) is at LNN and it has been wonderful.  The staff has been fantastic and my son seems to be happy whenever I pick him up.  The price is average, but you have to remember it includes diapers, wipes and formula/baby food.  The hours at LNN are great (6-6). At many centers I found I would have to pay for those types of extended hours.

I searched for months to find the right place and could not be happier with our decision.

  • My 4 month old girl goes to Lil Newton's Nest - and we've had a wonderful experience there. We love the staff, and my girl seems very happy everyday I pick her up. We couldn't be happier with our choice.
