Babies: 3 - 6 Months

XP: UO Thursday!

I find Chuck E Cheese repulsive. Thousands of little kids touching everything with their unwashed, disease covered hands, makes me want to vomit. I also think it's dumb to have a birthday party there. It's never really about the persons birthday and everyone's too focused on just playing and chasing after their kids. Plus, their pizza sucks.

  • I agree with everything except the pizza!  I thought the pizza was great, but it has been about 12yrs since I've been.  In high school my friend was Chuckie so we'd visit her all the time and eat pizza, ahha.  Maybe it was the 16 year old me thinking the food was good, though.

  • I actually like the pizza Embarrassed

But you're right...it is germ infested! I will not be holding any of DD's parties at a place like this. And, this might be flameful, but I might also have to consider allowing her to attend a birthday party held at such a place. Last year I got the flu after I attended a party for my nephew at a place called Bounce Magic (a place with a bunch of indoor bounce houses). It was awful! I never felt so sick in my life, plus I was pregnant (which made it worse).

IMO these places are not sanitized. I worked at McDonalds when I was younger, and nobody EVER sanitized the play place part of the restaurant. I remember kids would poop and smear it down the tube slides. Obviously someone would clean it up, but just the thought of it makes my sick. Ick!

  • Ewww. That makes me want to vom just thinking about it.

Mine is that my DH and I are seriously considering staying home for Christmas. LO can't handle big crowds and we would likely spend the entire day in a back room trying to console our screaming infant. Spending the days going to our own church service and being in her regular environment with her own crib and naptimes sounds so much more enjoyable this year.

...we just have to break it to my mom who, when i hinted at the idea, said, "So, what, should I just MAIL you your presents then?!?!" Eeeeek.

  • The Bounce U where my niece had her parties makes every kid sanitize their hands on the way in and the way out. Not that it stops the drool/puke/poop that may occur, but I was impressed by the effort. That may not be saying much for my standards of party factories, though.

  • I've tried, but I just can't bring myself to like those Babyleg leg warmer things...

I know they're super popular, but I think they look weird on babies and I just don't see the point; just put your kid in a sleeper if you're worried about their legs being cold. I just don't see the point and think they look silly.

but I also respect the fact that everyone has different styles/tastes...they're just not for me.

Changing diapers in babylegs is WAY easier than in a sleeper. That's my main reason for using them. That, and DD looks like she belongs in Flashdance and it makes me laugh.

  • My baby is more important than you!

Ok, not really (well kind of). I'm tired of everyone expecting things of DH and I and getting mad at us for choosing not to uproot our child and destroy her schedule.

MIL-"We are all going to Manhattan (a two hour drive) for one of the days of Christmas!"
Me-"DH and I won't be going, no way can DD be in that dirty, freezing, crowded situation with no where comfortably to nap, eat, be warm, play."
    MIL- *angry pout*

Everyone wants us to spend whole day adventures with no regard to DDs comfort! Last night I was up with a screaming baby bc her naps were thrown off when ILs kept overstimulating her and not letting her sleep. SIL complained to DH that she is always the one coming down from NYC to visit and we never go there. Um, we have a baby and you chose to live there! UGH!! I'm just over everyone and their inconsiderate nature.

Hopefully this isn't actually an UO here, just with our fams :-) Sorry for hijacking the thread for a vent!

  • Here's mine -

I have a girlfriend who has a 3 year old son and is pregnant with her second (and last) baby.  Her son isn't potty trained and she isn't planning on starting until after the baby is born - she's due in January.  She has no desire to potty train him and doesn't want to anytime soon.

I don't understand this.  I would love for my son to be potty trained asap.  DH jokes that his first steps will be on the way to the bathroom.  I'm not saying they're wrong, I'm just saying I think it's gross.  It's no longer the non-stinky baby poop but the "regular" poop.  He tells her when he's going, when he's done and when he needs to be changed.  It's just too weird for me.

I'M WITH YOU!! This is EXACTLY how my family is. :/

  • Here is mine...

I can't stand people who register for gender specific big ticket items IF they plan on having more kids. I just don't get it! Why register for a pink jumperoo, travel system, bouncer chair, high chair, swing, etc., if you plan on having more kids? What if you have a boy next? It just boggles my mind!

I don't get it either! I wouldn't even get a pink seahorse for DD :-)
