After typing my last post my internet stopped working. I tried everything I could think of and even unplugged our router thingy, tried troubleshooting, etc. Nothing was working so I decided it was something on the provider end and decided to go start the dishwasher.
I get the thing full and tried to wash my hands and realized the cold water line in the kitchen is frozen. This is the first time since we've lived in this house that this has happened. Great.
I came back and checked the laptop. Still not working so I watched some TV. Checked again and realized somehow I had hit my wi-fi button to off.
I was up until 5:30 this morning so I think a nap is in order. Maybe that will fix the water line too. ::crossing fingers::
Re: I should have gone to work
I just responded to your post below. Take a nap. But first call DH and tell him he has to deal with the frozen line.
We thought our line was frozen once, but it turns out it was just the faucet. We soaked it in CRL and voila! Hopefully it's something simple on your end, too. Weird that it would freeze so fast.
It's been really cold here lately and our kitchen sink is in like a bay window type of thing. I don't know how to explain it but it sticks out from the house in a semi-circle deal. The line to the dishwasher freezes occasionally but the faucet itself has never done it. Stupid 8 degree weather.
Woah, that's cold. It's been low 30s here. I'll take that over 8. Sorry
That's crazy. Is your kitchen not insulated?? Yikes dude.
Go nap.
The kitchen is but our house is built on a hill so the kitchen kind of hangs out on stilts in the back yard and the sink hangs out even farther in that bay window thing so it's not insulated well at all. It's set up weird. I think the previous owners were DIYers and made some poor choices but H and I had no idea these would be problems when we bought the house. Pretty isn't always practical. : )
Thank you! I think they're the cutest pups ever but I'm biased.
Jack, the little one, is full blooded beagle and he just showed up at our house. He was dumped in the country and was way too cute to be left wandering the streets.
Emmy and Eddy are beagle mutts. They're mom was dropped off at the shelter I was doing volunteer work for extremely pregnant. Out of nine puppies we took the runt, Emmy, and the bruiser, Eddy. It's crazy how much bigger Eddy was than all the other puppies. He stood at least three inches taller than all of them and Emmy was so tiny. Now Eddy is lean and muscular but Emmy is so much bigger than him.
I strongly suggest looking at a shelter. I won't force it down your throat but many people don't realize that every dog in a shelter is not there because they are flawed. You'd be surprised how many people just move or receive animals as gifts and don't want them anymore. I still go to the shelter frequently and have a Great Dane, St. Bernard/German Shepard mix, and a blue tick hound on my wish list. : )
They are adorable! My parents always liked getting the runt of the litter too, they always have so much personality! My dad just recently got this tea cup sized dog (not really my style) that he is in love with. Apparently he just lays on his chest and goes to sleep. His life is now complete because of that little pup.
My DH had a few dogs growing up and they always went to the shelter and got adults dogs. As much as I'd love a puppy, whenever I go into the pet store and see all the adult dogs they have available to adopt it just breaks my heart. I don't worry about the puppies getting snatched up, they will eventually, it is the older dogs that are often looked past. So good on you for choosing a shelter!
That St.Bernard/German Shepard mix would be beautiful! I love big dogs. My SIL has a bull mastiff/St.Bernard and although she looks terrifying, she is the sweetest thing. So good with kids, even when they are hanging off of her and wanting to ride her.
How do you think your dogs will react when the LO arrives?
