Confession time.

I have had the cmas cards now for two weeks and haven't even opened the package.  I am exhausted from a crazy week and it picks back up tomorrow, so I really need to get them done today, but honestly, all I want to do is nothing.  I'm considering firing up my spreadsheet of addresses and doing a mail merge and printing labels.  Is that awful?

Re: Confession time.

  • Not at all. I'm all for hand-addressed wedding invitations, but Christmas cards to me are a little less formal.

We do labels for cards, too. Granted, they're really cute candy cane stripe wrap-around labels, but they still get printed. :)

  • Just do it and don't feel guilty. Seriously.  I have promptly thrown away the envelopes to the Christmas cards I've opened (the cards get hung up in our house) and I wouldn't think twice about it!

  • This year I hand-wrote but last year I did labels.  As a recipient, I just love getting the cards and I could care less how they got to my mailbox =)
  • I've received 4 cards so far and 2 had labels. I didn't care though, I only care about the card! :)
  • I was going to do a mail merge/print labels, but decided by the time I got my out of the house, bought labels, figured on the mail merge on my stupid Windows Vista piece-o-crap computer, and printed the labels, I should just hand write them.  So I did, and mailed them today.

And I have to say - your card in your pic is ADORABLE!   How on earth did you get your two kids looking in the same direction at the same time?  I don't have that skill..   I'm way jealous!

I did a Christmas card with 3 pics - one cute one of DS, one cute one of DD, and an picture of the 4 of us (the kids aren't really looking at the camera, but whatever).   I can't ever get a cute pic of the two of them.  And if I do, it always looking like DD1 has DS2 in a headlock...

Answer:  Blind luck.  And yes, your last statement will be my future, I'm afraid, lol!
