Two Under 2

Are they twins??

Everyone thinks my LOs are twins.  I know my DS is a big boy but common on they don't look like twins.  We took them to the zoo a few months and DS couldn't even sit up while DD is running around everyone but still some lady asked if they were twins.  We have got asked a few time since then too.  It just funny to me because DD is talking up a storm and running everywhere were DS we are holding and he looks like a baby but people still think they are twins.  I guess this is a question they will get for the rest of their lives.

Re: Are they twins??

  • It seriously blows my mind how often I've been asked that.  DD looks like a baby, DS clearly is a toddler .... WTF?  I can totally see this being a legit question when they're, say, 5 and 6 ... but now?

Agreed. I expected questions like that when they were older, but I was shocked that we get asked it now.

  • we have even gotten it.  The baby is 2 months old and her sister is 14 months old.

Seriously?  Yeah, they are twins lol

  • I agree I was already expecting the twin comments but not til they were older.  The developmental difference between the two is huge.  Plus you can tell a baby look from the look of a toddler.

  • Ha Ha, Yes!  DS2 is a pretty big boy but he's still in an infant carrier people!  When I say DS1 is a surviving twin people have no clue what to say.

  • You will probably hear it a lot, people just don't look closely enough or are just dumb, lol. I have a twin sister and a sister who is THREE years older and people still asked if we were triplets!!! They just saw 3 blonde girls and assumed, lol.

Oh this just made me wonder if people will ask me this of my kids, especially since my twins are small and my singleton is average size and she looks exactly like her brother... hmm... Just what I need, another dumb question asked to me when I go out!

  • eh- it's not THE dummest question out there.... my twins are10lbs apart and look nothing alike... people are shocked when i tell them they are twins.

  • I get the same thing with my two older boys.... They are a year and a half apart and since the younger one turned 1 everywhere we go people ask if they are twins... now they are 3 inches and 3 pounds apart, so I can see what they are saying, but then,,, a 1 year old and a 3 year old.... cummon!

  • Me and my brother used to get this a lot when we were little.  He's 13 months younger than me, and even when we were clearly at different stages, people still asked. It didn't stop until he hit his growth spurt and got taller than me, then everyone thought he was the older one!
