since 3:30 I have been having pretty bad back pain with contractions and period like cramps.
Its been bad enough that I have to not talk or breathe through it.
I drank a ton of water and laid on a heating pad. That helped. It went away for a half hour and them came back.
after another hour it went away again, now it's back. So round 3.
I haven't been really able to time the contractions because between the back pain and the cramping, it feels so jumbled together.
No bleeding, no leaking of anything. Lots of movement.
is this was really labor would it stop and go like that? I'm giving it another hour or two and then I'll go in I think.
Re: yet another contraction question
whoever answers the phone up there must just be trained to say "come on in"
No matter what you say, it's always "come in". They will never get anyone to just talk to you. Its my one pet peeve about this place.

My Chart / Info for Newbies
When I went into PTL at 28 weeks - thats exactly what it felt like for me. I let it go on for 2 days before I called just thinking it was normal. When it got so bad I couldnt talk through the contrax, I called and went in. Turned out I was dilated 2.5cm and was having contrax every 2-4 minutes. We even met with the NICU staff to talk about 28 weekers. They were able to stop it with med and I'm now on bedrest also. I would definitley go in, better safe than sorry. I wish I had gone in earlier.
seems to have slowed now but am keeping an eye on it.
I also met with the nicu team at 27 weeks and had contractions stopped. Yet here I sit just thinking I'm overreacting again.
I hate my body!
I can't really seem to time my contractions, either. Most of the time, it seems like it's "one big contraction" for about 20 minutes.
I've been monitored by the Dr, and seen contractions pop up on the chart, and not even felt them.
I would go in.
I'm the idiot who chalked my back pain up to being on my feet at work for 9 hrs. By the time I got to the hospital, I was 5cm dialated and had a baby 24 hrs later.
Just go to the hospital!
eta: I was contracting every 2 minutes and I couldn't feel them. I really thought I was just having back pain. If you can feel the contractions and you're having cramps and back pain, you need to go get checked out!!!
