Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Anyone drifted away from CD?

We started out in disposables then switched to cloth around 3 months. I LOVE them but put him in disposables for a while when we moved (to avoid extra laundry). Then we did it because of a diaper rash, then one thing or another. Now, I feel like I can't get caught up on laundry to save my life. I want to go back, especially at home, but can't for some reason, lol.

Anyone else drifted away for one reason or another?

  • Ahh! I miss you guys too! But once it went to something with a password or something, I was never able to get in. I think about it all the time, lol.
  • We never did cloth.  But I love your siggy!

Thank you!! It only took me about 50 tries, lol. I was using a regular point and shoot with no flash so both had to be perfectly still- that obviously doesn't happen much with little ones.

  • Yeah, that's me. We stopped and just can't seem to get back to it. Now we have enough disposables to last through PTing, so we'll try again with the next one. I hope! I really did like it!
  • Yuppers. I was all about CD. Then LO started getting a bad rash and nothing I tried was working, so we switched to DD. I miss my cloth and just yesterday tried out the CD again and he started getting a rash again.  Plus, his DC doesn't allow CD.  I would LOVE to use my CD again.  We did use them successfully for over a year, so I don't feel like it was a total waste. I just wish I knew what was causing the rash.

  • We stopped CDIng ds around 20 months, we were having a lot of leak problems because he was such a heavy wetter. We are planning to CD #2 so we'll see how long we can make it with her.

I'll second that- I'm a sucker for sweater vests!!

  • Yep, same here. Once DD had a couple diaper rashes I gave up. Every time I put her in cloth lately she gets one again. I am thinking of giving them 1 more try and if she gets another rash I'll get rid of them.

They were also much easier during spring/summer because DD wouldn't have to wear pants, just dresses or bloomers over them. Jeans and most pants just don't fit right on DD with the cloth.

  • I did CD for the first 3 months, or so and then stopped once he outgrew them because 1. I won a year of free huggies and 2. I was having so many issues with BFing and DS sleeping that I just couldn't deal with anything else.  I got back into them when DS was about 9 months, because a few friends were using gdiapers and I love them.

We never use cloth overnight, though.  I just don't want to mess with sleep.  I may try with baby #2.

  • We did part time CD at home (which was all the time in the beginning - we had a nanny until we moved at 16 months and I started SAH). Not overnight though. Around the time we moved I started using disposables and I also ran out of the diaper liners I like....and just never got around to ordering more. I need to get back to it though and order some off amazon. We have number 2 coming in June and I definitely plan to CD during the newborn phase. The BM poop is so much easier to deal with!
