After reading the recent post about Ikea's Hemnes dresser, I'm seriously considering getting one for our nursery. I already have one in my bedroom, but when I look at it and imagine a changing pad on top I get the impression that it may be a bit tall to also use as a changer (which is what we're planning to do with any dresser in the nursery). This is also my first child, so I have no idea what appropriate changer height is. What has your experience been?
Re: Is Hemnes dresser too tall to also act as changer?
I am short and will be using the dresser as a changer. I am looking forward to not being huched over during changes. This was why I went with the Hemnes.
Hi ladies,
Popping in to reminisce about what it was like to plan a nursery, etc.
We have been using the Hemnes 8 drawer dresser for our changing area for 6+ months now, and I love the height. I'm 5'2" and my husband is 6'1". I like that it's a bit higher, everything is right in front of me. The width is perfect for the changing pad and the storage room is fantastic.
In fact, I was just saying to my husband that I might like to get another one to use as my dresser in our room!
We have the 8 drawer. It is the PERFECT height for a changing table. It's tall enough to easily use. I love that I don't have to bend over at all.
LOVE the dresser, in general. I told DH that I'm sad we didn't get those for us...
