Short of Breath...

Is this happening to anyone else? I know LO is nowhere near big enough to be interfering with my lung expansion - but I have been experiencing alot of shortness of breath ( mainly if I am talking alot ). Once I take a few good deep breaths I am fine, Just sometimes feel like "Ok Gotta BREATH!"

    It's because your lungs are already starting to expand to allow for the extra oxygen that's needed now and later on in the pregnancy.  And yes I get it sometimes!

    Oh my gosh, this is totally me!  I will do the simplest thing, then be breathing so hard and all I can think of is "wow, am I really that out of shape?!". I am glad it isn't just me and that it is normal... whew!

    No worries. My LPN said that the lungs are working extra hard right now to accomodate all the extra blood your body has produced. I was worried, because I'm an asthmatic, and she said to definately continue with my inhaler as needed, since the lungs are already working overtime.

    OMG, I so get this. I thought I was just out of shape. But it has gotten worse since pregnant.  I am so out of breath going up the stairs at my school with my heavy backpack, water bottle, lunch bag, purse and now my heavy winter jacket with gloves and hat...I feel like I will never catch my breath and start to like hyperventilate..I try to pace myself, but out of habit I walk super fast. I always get made fun of for walking so fast..

    that was my first sign something was up about 1 week before i even found out or even had any inclination, i was walking up to the 3rd floor, and by the time i got up there i felt like i was going to pass out from being short of breath and extremely lightheaded, since then its let up quite a bit but i still get that heavy feeling in my chest if im walking around a lot
