What do you ladies who have had kiddos previously think about peppermint tea (plain herbal tea with only peppermint - caffeine free)? I've found that i love it right now and it settles my stomach when it's not perfectly happy but i've read conflicting things on the internet. Some people say not to drink it because it can stimulate uterine contractions while others say drink it if it settles your stomach. Any thoughts/consensus? I end up drinking at least two cups a day and am occasionally worried that i shouldn't be.
Re: Peppermint tea?
I remember looking into this when I was overdue with DD. You would have to drink a TON of tea for it to really make a difference 1 or 2 cups a day is nothing compared to what it would take to really mess with you.
It was something that I tried with DD along with other things and all of them in conjunction did cause a few contractions but she still came a week late and by c/s as she was breech and a huge baby.
This exactly. I also read that rosehips are bad, and they are the main ingredient in my favorite blueberry herbal tea. It actually looks like plain black tea is the best, but only a cup or so a day. Other than that, water juice and milk seem to be the only risk free beverages.
I've been drinking so much black tea! It's all I want to drink (besides water...) I guess maybe I should cut back some. I figured if it was decaf it wouldn't be an issue.
