So I need some help

Ok so DH has been doing a lot of very sweet things lately... I am not very creative...I have the next 5 days off and I would really like to make him a nice candlelight dinner or something of the sort to surprise him but I just have no ideas .....I really think he deserves to be pampered more than me after everything he has been through with his health and on top of it I really feel like a failure that I can't give him a baby and it really makes me sad.....so what do you think might surprise him or make him smile a little?

What creative fun things do you do for your man? Thanks ladies

That is so sweet Jen! I love the idea!

My DH has a few things that he loves - he loves when I cook him his favorite meal (lasagna with garlic bread and caesar salad), he also loves when I give him full body messages (I'm not very good at it, but he loves em and it makes for nice foreplay during FWP time Wink ), he also really likes when I surprise him and do one or some of his household chores/responsibilities (i.e. scooping the cat boxes, shoveling the driveway, taking out the garbage, etc.).

I hope you are able to figure something out, no matter what I am sure that he'll love it!

My DH is so thoughtful and romantic and I am not. I hate that! But, I did plan one romantic night on the anniversary of the day we met.

He came to my house and I had made a sign with a made up restaurant name and put it on the front door. I filled the house with lit tea light candles. I got a fancy table cloth and put it on the dining table with fresh flowers for a centerpiece. I cooked dinner. I am not a good cook, so this was a big deal. I ordered cheesecake for dessert from this place in NYC and had it shipped because it is his favorite.

Then, we went to the bar where our first meeting was. I had gone beforehand and left a "reserved for Matt & Christy" sign. They put it on the table we sat at on our first date.

Also, my DH does this thing where he puts out four bags and fills each with ideas for the night. Bag 1 - restaurant options. Bag 2 - movies to go see. Bag 3 - place to go for dessert or drinks after. Bag 4 - stuff to do when we get home Wink

Bill loves it when I take his truck to be detailed. He says it is like getting a brand new truck.

When I'm really feeling like making him feel special, I'll put on a simple dress (he eats that up LOL!), do my hair and make up and all of that just for a normal homey supper. Something about my playing housewife makes him all warm and fuzzy inside.

For sure, whipping up his favorite meal is a plus..mine loves a good crockpot roast with carrots, potatoes, onions, etc..perfect on a chilly day!

And I am a fan of silly little notes tucked in places where he will just stumble on them..I do post-its with reasons why I love him and reasons why I am so glad he is my husband and I stick them in his work bag, in his bathroom drawer, in his sock drawer, etc..I never know just when he will find them, but when he does he always comes to find me with a goofy grin on his face!! So cute!

You are a great wife to be focused on making your DH know how wonderful he is!!! We forget sometimes I think that guys need to hear that from us now and then!! Smile

DH has always wanted me to be naked when he gets home from work. I've been too chicken to ever do it, but it's an idea. You could also wear something sexy under a trench or long coat - perhaps a nurse outfit? Stick out tongue

If he has a favorite dinner or dessert, you can always make that for him, and decorate the house with candles.

Men tend to not want/need the typical 'romance' to feel pampered. Men are simple. In general, they want to relax, eat food they enjoy, and have sex.

Greet him at the door in booty shorts, a slutty tank and Hooters wings.
Do all of 'his' chores so when he comes home, the house is clean and all he needs to do is relax (french maid costume optional).
Delivery pizza, beer and a night of ESPN/X Box with no guilt.
A nice long massage (and sex)
His favorite home cooked comfort food... no matter how greasy, tacky or nasty you find it.
Clean the house, make/buy tons of junk food, let him bring his buddies over to watch the game (or go with him to a sports bar and waste the day watching the games with him).

Those are my suggestions... good luck

Today is my DH's birthday so I am making zucchini lasagna (which he knows about) and I just took brownies out of the oven (which is a surprise). He already got a cake over the weekend but I wanted to surprise him with something since he's a little down today and I know how that feels because that's how I felt on my birthday last month.

Favorite cake or meal - FI favorite is Chicken Parmesan with Fettuccine noodles and alfredo sauce. And Carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. MMmmm.

He also likes it when I take the truck to get washed and detailed.

my DH often packs his lunch for work. i will often put little notes in his lunch without him knowing letting him know how much i love him and appreciate him. he loves when i do this and will often text me after lunch saying how much he enjoyed seeing the note. you could spice it up a bit and write something naughty on the note if you wanted to go that route as well

Do you remember what you guys ate on your first date? Maybe recreat that meal. Also I like to put notes in dh's wallet or pocket that he will see during the day when he is at work just letting him know how much I love and appreciate him. Also check out fredericks for a santa outfit.
