I think my DS does - not extreme but it's there. Example: he HATES when I roll his sleeves up to eat. He immediately starts trying to put them back down and fusses/complains that they're up.
Another example: the other day DH dressed him in these sweatpants and the stretchy part around the ankle was somewhat tight. DS threw a fit! He was going nutso until I changed his pants.
Any of your LO's do stuff like that too?
Re: Does your LO show OCD behaviors?
Ahhh!
Yes! See my post below about obsessive behavior. He is also very concerned with were his toys go. We put his Cozy Coupe car in his bedroom (it's usually in the family room) when we had people over and when he woke up the next morning he got so mad and tried to push it down the stairs LOL.
My son does this kind of thing. The crumb thing kills me. We have a fan in his room and in ours at night - and the first thing he wants to do is turn the fans off. He always says first thing when he wakes up "fan off - mommy do it?" If I tell him we'll turn it off later, he keeps repeating himself louder and louder until I give up and turn the fans off.
Ditto on the sensory thing. We all have different sensory likes and dislikes. If you think about it, you can come up with your personal list. It's a problem if it interferes with your child's ability to function day-to-day.
Typical areas of like/dislike:
Texture in food: smooth, crunchy, grainy, etc. For some kids certain textures are intolerable.
Touch: basic things like being drawn to fabrics that are soft or silky, but also things like pressure or light brushing sensations. Some people can't stand restriction (like you described), some can't stand loose fabric brushing their skin. Some kids have a HUGE problem with pulling a shirt over their face, more than the normal dislike.
Movement: some kids are very cautious and don't like a lot of movement, some are crashers, constantly throwing themselves around and playing roughly to get heavy sensory input. Most of us are in the middle.
Vision: brightness, fast moving objects (some people love it, some people get dizzy!)
Smell: Think about people who can't stand to be around perfume
Hearing: over/under sensitivity to sounds. Not bad hearing, just the typical differences between the tv volume you want vs what your husband wants. Is too much sound overwhelming or soothing, etc.
There are more, but those are some common ones. And again, we ALL do this. You have to examine how many things are issues, and how big that issue is. For example, I can't stand things touching my neck. No big deal, I don't wear turtle necks or tight/short necklaces. But I worked with a child whose mom called Carter's to find out if they made bigger onesies because the boatneck was the only shirt he would allow over his head. Or the kid who would ONLY wear baseball pants because they were skin-tight. That's a sign of an issue. But hey, if I can hate pointy shoes and yogurt, my kid can hate tight cuffs and bananas.
