I delieveried at a smaller hospital. They have a special care nursery but they don't have a full on NICU. A coworker of my MIL, has a sister that is a head nurse in LD there. I touched barely in my birth story but they were on high alert for my delivery on friday. They had the whole nursey set up, extra nurses on, about a million specialist on call and where ready to take her to the Childrens Hospital in St. Louis for when Kellie made her apperance. We had extra Drs and nurses in our room ready to wisk her away in a flash. When they pulled her out and she didn't have any of the issues that they thought they were all amazed. I feel truly blessed that we were so lucky that our hopital was sooooo prepared for our little girl.
I know it might sound horrible of me to say, I am glad that they thought my baby girl was going to have so many issues. While I didnt need the amazing staff, the woman in the next room wasn't so lucky. Because they had so many extra staff and drs on for us they were able to save her baby. I can't even imagine how she must be feeling and I know I didn't do anything but I am so glad thay everything was ready to go for them.
I really didn't have a point to this other than that I feel so blessed for our little girl and I am soo glad that I had amazing drs. I do belive everything happens for a reason, so I think someone was looking out for both of us Moms that night.
