Can you return unopened formula?

I bought a can yesterday - my supply is low for some reason, and I just used up my freezer stash of milk.  If my supply ends up returning to normal, can I return formula?  I have a feeling the answer is no...

Re: Can you return unopened formula?

  • Of course you can, as long as it's unopened and the receipt might be helpful.

  • If it's unopened and you have a receipt, I've never had a problem.

ETA: You may want to keep it though. If it were me and my supply were running low but then started to build back up, I wouldn't want to chance not having the formula I wanted to use around for the next time it starts to decrease, especially since you used your freezer stash.

  • I agree with Emily- I would just keep the formula in case you need it!

  • I tried to return formula but they wouldn't let me without a receipt because they said I may have bought it with WIC checks.
  • Yes, you absolutely need the receipt but it can be returned (or if you used a bonus card for the store, they can look up your purchase that way).
  • Most stores will return it with the receipt.  They need the receipt so people who receive WIC don't try to return their formula for cash or store credit.
