Babies: 0 - 3 Months

and I thought I was original!

Ugh! Just looked at the list of 100 most popular names of 2010 and DS's name was like #12 or 13....I swear it wasn't on the list when I was picking names. Me and DH don't know any Calebs and hadn't heard of anyone else naming their baby Caleb so we thought we were pretty good at NOT picking a name almost everyone else had:/ Is it bad that it kinda saddened me to see his name so high on the list?

It's a great name though.  A friend of mine just had her LO today (!!!) and he is also a Caleb.

  • I feel the same way - We are teachers, so come across LOTS of names, and never met an Emerson...A lady across the hall in the hospital had an 11 month old Emerson.  A little girl was named Emerson a couple weeks afterwards.  My neighbors daughter is considering Emerson, and some random lady in the mall...if her daughter in law has a boy, guess what she is naming her child?

And this is in a SMALL area.  Good thing we had a little boy, as opposed to  a girl...we had chosen Sophie, and our town is crawling with them.

We were gonna name a girl Isabella Grace......I laugh at the thought now=)

My name is Olivia, and when I was born there weren't really any others, I was named after my grandmother who was named Olive. Now its like #3 on the list! At least its getting easier to find my name on personalized stuff. My LO's name, Connor, I haven't known any others :)

  • I agree! Its an adorable name! It doesnt matter if a bunch of kids have it. You know what drives me absolutely insane. I named my daughter Piper, and everytime I tell someone there are only TWO responses. One is Oh my god what a neat name, what made you think of that! That is such and awesome name! or Oh, what made you choose Piper? Thats....cool. EIther people love it or hate it, and they definitely dont disguise their feelings well if they hate it. It just rubs me the wrong way, if you dont like the name I chose say it dont act like your some sweet person by faking it, when I obviously can tell you are. Uh! People are so annoying sometimes

  • That's why I looked at the rankings before naming DD.

  • I had never head the name Caiden before we named DS1 that, its number 8 this year, and DS2 we names Ethan, which is number 4.  Definately was not my plan to have names so high on the list.  I guess thats what happens when DH veto'd most of my name choices!

  • Ethan is #2 but it doesn't bother me at all. I really love the name and DH and I had a hard time agreeing on something. Next boys are possibly Ephraim or Charles...totally leaning towards Ephraim though.

  • Who cares? As long as you like LO's name it shouldn't matter how popular or unpopular their name is. I named our boys Ryan and Nathan. Two strong boys names IMO, that are appropriate for both little boys and grown men. Both are in the top 20 and I don't care.
