Jack has strep on his bottom

Jack has strep on his bottom :(  I thought it was just a diaper rash but it came back positive for strep.  He has to take antibiotics and some special cream for a couple weeks and hopefully it will clear up.

It is just ugly red looking and really isn't "that" bad, I thought nothing of it.

Anyone else have a little one with a strep bum :)  Did it go away or come back after the treatment was finished?

    Poor Jack! We've only had bad yeast rashes on Jonah's bum.  I'm sorry! Hopefully it will clear up soon with the antibiotics.

    Yes, DS got that right around his 1st b-day (actually caught it from someone at his party). His was so bad, it blistered and bled a little :-( Took the antibiotics and it cleared it up pretty quickly! GL!

    What does it look like may I ask?  My little guy keeps getting a red bum that we lather with cream, but sometimes it looks pimply almost.  It goes away, but then comes back and we always change him immediately, so we aren't sure why he gets red.

    It's very red and the pedi said that strep usually has a white pimply look to the redness (my LO does not have the pimples)....I'd bring your little one to the pedi to get swabbed.  It wouldn't surprise me if he had it, my pedi said it's going around.  It was a simple rectal swab and she had the results within minutes.  By the way, Jack had the same "rash" a few weeks ago and it cleared up within a day or 2 but came back.  He has not had a fever at all.  The rash was up in his folds and in the crease of his legs too, on his penis and on  his butt cheeks.  Hopefully it's nothing, but it's better to check so it doesn't start to bleed and get worse.
